Tech Data Canada Announces Its New Line-Up Of Marketing Initiatives For 2008

Customer Segment-Specific Programs And Cross-Country Business Builder
Tour Added To Mix Of Activities

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Oct. 23 /CNW/ - Tech Data Canada, a leading provider of
IT products, logistics management and other value-added programs, has
announced its framework of channel marketing initiatives for 2008. Details of
the new programs were provided at Tech Data's annual Vendor Summit held on
October 18, 2007. Building on the company's recent customer segmentation
analysis, Tech Data's 2008 programs will provide vendors with additional
options to reach and develop VARs, solution providers and system builders
across the country.
"Our approach this year is very much driven by our overall go-to-market
strategy as well as by extensive feedback we've received from our reseller and
vendor partners," said Rick Reid, President, Tech Data Canada. "We recently
evaluated and aligned our sales resources to improve the coverage and service
we can provide to various segments within our customer base. It only makes
sense to ensure our marketing programs also provide expanded market reach and
improved development opportunities."
Targeted marketing efforts include a number of annual programs aimed
specifically at each of Tech Data's defined customer segments. Using extensive
communications and select partner engagement activities, vendors will gain
tremendous exposure to customers within each group. In addition, Tech Data
will also offer the 2008 edition of TechSelect, targeting an established peer
network of 55 of Canada's most successful SMB resellers.
"We've combined activities such as executive one-on-ones, technology
seminars, a trade-show forum and a customer appreciation reception," said Greg
Myers, Vice President, Marketing, Tech Data Canada. "In addition, our Business
Builder Tour will benefit and attract different roles and levels within each
reseller. The scale and scope of education, engagement and business planning
makes each of the six stops an absolute 'can't miss' opportunity for our
resellers," added Myers.
Unified in their approach to the vast markets they serve, TechSelect
members gather at regional meetings and at two partner conferences during the
year to learn about new opportunities to help accelerate their growth. They
also share success stories, strategies, and new approaches to unearth
opportunities within the Canadian SMB marketplace.
Anchoring Tech Data's customer and vendor business partner engagement for
2008 is the new Business Builder Tour. This six-city, conference-style event
will offer both large-scale reseller interaction and the opportunity for
personalized partnership development, fueling strategies to capitalize on the
industry's latest technology trends. The tour will feature two-day events in
Toronto, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver, and full-day events in Ottawa and
Quebec City.
