TORONTO, May 8 /CNW/ - The Toronto Humane Society is well into the
festivities of its 7th annual Be Kind to Animals Week. The week is a
fun-packed seven days of events, activities and outreach programs designed to
enhance public understanding of animal issues and promote the fair and ethical
treatment of animals everywhere.
"Be Kind To Animals Week (May 7-13) is a time to recognize the special
bond between humans and animals and the important role they play in our
lives," explains THS president Tim Trow. "During this week, we honour animals
as our companions, protectors and best friends." This week is also an
opportunity to promote responsible animal care and to ask people to become
more involved with their pets.
The official by-invitation ceremony marking Be Kind to Animals Week takes
place on Thursday, May 10, 2007 in conjunction with the Grand Unveiling
Ceremony for the recently completed Cat Sky House. The events take place in
the outdoor courtyard on the Society's second floor, located at 11 River St.
(at the corner of Queen St. E. and River St.).
The Toronto Humane Society is a not-for-profit organization funded
through charitable donations. Our mission is to promote the humane care and
protection of all animals and to prevent cruelty and suffering.
