TORONTO, July 3 /CNW/ - Suiting up for a good cause, Rod Black and
celebrity friends take to the field for a softball game this Saturday, July
4th - the highlight of a day-long event benefiting Plan Canada, one of the
world's largest development organizations, working in more than 65 countries
worldwide on critical issues affecting millions of children. Presented in
conjunction with Hendon Park Sports Association, the event will also feature a
Maple Leafs replica dressing room and an inflatable Marlies practice hockey
rink where kids can hone their skills.
A softball tournament culminates in the celebrity game at 4 pm, featuring
NHL, MLB, CFL players and personalities as well the mascots from the Raptors,
Tiger Cats and Marlies. The star roster include acclaimed actor and singer
Michael Burgess, and a long list of Canadian sports legends including Argo's
quarterback Kerry Joseph, former CFLer Duanne Forde, former Olympic downhill
skier Brian Stemmle and former Ti-Cat Danny McManus.WHO: NHL, MLB, CFL players and personalities, including their mascots

Money will be raised through the registration of teams and food
concession. In addition, the top 15 individual fundraisers will take part in
