BLAINVILLE, QC, Sept. 16 /CNW Telbec/ - Alain Beaudry, President of Énergie Cardio (EC) and David Patchell-Evans, Founder and CEO of GoodLife Fitness announced today that they have entered into a conditional partnership in Québec.
While these two leaders in the fitness industry are joining forces, day to day management, the people who make the decisions, the employees and the brand of Énergie Cardio will remain unchanged in Québec.
Énergie Cardio was founded in 1985 in Saint-Jérôme, Québec with current President Alain Beaudry at the helm. EC was able to stand out from their competitors by introducing a new and accessible concept to any type of members. Because of their commitment to creating a warm and friendly atmosphere and their commitment to being dynamic, energetic and hardworking, the organization has blossomed into a leading fitness organization boasting over 65 clubs and 140 000 members and 1 600 employees across Québec.
"Énergie Cardio is the biggest and best brand in Quebec. Through the partnership with GoodLife, the biggest and best brand in Canada we will emerge as one of the top five largest physical fitness networks on the planet with close to 275 centres. It is an honour for us to associate ourselves with David Patchell-Evans, a brilliant and caring businessman. Our organization, franchisees and members will only benefit from this association, through things like cost savings, access to a larger network of clubs and the combined expertise, all still at competitive prices." says Alain Beaudry.
GoodLife was founded by David Patchell-Evans in 1979 in London, Ontario and has now grown to be one of the most respected fitness companies globally. CEO David Patchell-Evans said today that GoodLife is excited to be joining forces with Énergie Cardio since the two companies share a common culture and goals.
"GoodLife's recent acquisition of Nubody's fitness in Atlantic Canada brought our total number of clubs to 191. Since Énergie Cardio leads the way for health and fitness in Québec, the combined strength and expertise of our two companies, means more benefits for members and access to more clubs", said Patchell-Evans. GoodLife has partnered with Énergie Cardio according to Patchell-Evans "because I was impressed by their well-run operations, great people, positive atmosphere and commitment to giving back to their communities. Success is proportionate to how you treat the people you come in contact with - great employees translate into satisfied members."
Both Énergie Cardio and GoodLife are focused on providing seamless operations and great member care in Québec. The six GoodLife clubs in Quebec will be rebranded Énergie Cardio.
