AUX Program Roster Expands Featuring Eight Original Series and ExploreMusic with Alan Cross Leading the Lineup

TORONTO, Jan. 27 /CNW/ - Canadian music guru Alan Cross joins an
expanding programming slate on AUX, Canada's first and only interactive,
cross-platform channel dedicated to new music. Cross brings his renowned
industry savvy to AUX as host of the forthcoming series ExploreMusic with Alan
Cross. It's one of eight original titles on www.aux.tv that spotlight rising
and established artists in Canada and from around the world. A weekly two hour
AUX programming block currently airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on BITE TV, GlassBOX
Television's award winning multi-platform channel.
"Our growing roster of original series focuses on what's important - the
music," said Raja Khanna, President of AUX. "We're producing eight shows that
truly speak for themselves, covering all aspects of the thriving music scene
in Canada and others around the world. This is just the beginning."
AUX premieres the following new original series for the first time:
ExploreMusic with Alan Cross, MasterTracks, Cypher, and Band Foto. Previously
available original titles including Strange Notes hosted by George Pettit of
Alexisonfire, Volume, Camera Music, and Alt.Sessions round out the lineup with
new episodes added regularly.
"This is a great opportunity to take our music discovery project,
ExploreMusic, even further," said Alan Cross. "First, it was online with
ExploreMusic.com and on radio with our daily show. Not to mention The Ongoing
History of New Music, which has been running since 1993. Now with AUX, we can
extend the discussion of music into a whole new realm. And anytime people get
to discuss music in a passionate way, that's a good thing."
AUX's programming assets feature all genres of emerging music from
acoustic folk to hardcore screamo and everything in between. Canada's Cancer
Bats, Will Currie & The Country French, and Great Lake Swimmers, U.S.-based
acts like Michael Franti & Spearhead, Rise Against, and Semi-Precious Weapons,
and the U.K.'s White Lies are just some of the bands fans can experience on
AUX.
GlassBOX Television currently has an application before the CRTC for a
category 2 specialty television license for AUX.

style with raw behind-the-scenes footage dispersed throughout each
