HALIFAX, Aug. 19 /CNW/ -Event: Nuts4Ribs - Canada's only ribfest to raise awareness of
testicular cancer and men's health issues - will have an
entertaining line-up of musical guests and activities on
Saturday, August 22, 2009. Activities include:
- 3-on-3 ball hockey tournament to begin (8:30 a.m)
- Opening speeches by Nuts4Ribs Founder, Michael Kydd and
local dignitaries (12:15 p.m)
- Harley Davidson Owners Group Show n' Shine (1:00-3:00 p.m.)
- Mitch MacDonald, Canadian Idol runner-up, to perform
(4:00 p.m)
- 3rd Annual Cojones Cook-Off (4:30-5:00 p.m)
- 2nd Annual Investors Group Rib-Eating Contest (5:30 p.m.)
- Sons of Maxwell to perform sequel to "United Breaks
Guitars" live for first time at Nuts4Ribs (6:00 p.m)
- Matt Minglewood to close the show (9:00 p.m)

Location: Halifax waterfront (next to the Waterfront Warehouse
restaurant)
Time: 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.Rib-eating contestants will have seven minutes to devour a 3lb tray of
ribs. The top four will then move on to a three-minute championship round. The
event is open for photo opportunities, and all contestants will be available
for interviews after the competition.
