What's Open and Closed in Montréal for the Easter Holiday


    MONTREAL, April 9 /CNW Telbec/ - A number of Ville de Montréal facilities
will remain open over the Easter holiday, while the majority of administration
offices will be closed.
    Most city offices will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday, April
10 and 13, including all borough and Accès Montréal offices and service
points. Residents may call 311 or consult the borough Web sites at:
ville.montreal.qc.ca. for changes to borough schedules.

    Garbage and recycling collections
    ---------------------------------

    Days and times for collection services vary with each borough. Residents
may call 311, consult their borough weekly or call their Accès Montréal office
or borough service point for information on holiday schedules for garbage and
recycling pick-ups.

    Sports and recreation facilities
    --------------------------------

    Schedules for arenas, swimming pools, sports, recreation and community
centres, libraries and cultural facilities vary with each borough. Residents
are advised to call the facility before planning an outing.

    Science centres
    ---------------

    The Biodôme (4777, avenue Pierre De Coubertin) will be open Good Friday
and Easter Monday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Information: 514 868-3000.

    The Planetarium (1000, rue Saint-Jacques) will be open Good Friday, 10
a.m. to 8:30 p.m., but closed on Easter Monday. Information on schedules and

    The Botanical Garden (4101, rue Sherbrooke Est) will be open both Good
Friday, April 10 and Easter Monday, April 13, while the Insectarium (4581, rue
Sherbrooke Est) will be open Good Friday, but closed Easter Monday.

    Other facilities

    The municipal court, 775, rue Gosford, will be closed April 10 and 13, as
will its ticket-payment centre at 303, rue Notre-Dame Est. Information: 514

    Public markets will be open their regular hours, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., on
Good Friday and Easter Monday.

    The Bonsecours market (350, rue Saint-Paul Est) will be open April 10 and

    The Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History, Pointe-à-Callières, will
be open Good Friday, but closed Easter Monday. Information: 514 872-9150.
