Catch the Wind announces first commercial sale of its Vindicator laser wind sensor for maritime applications

    Signs distribution agreement with AXYS Technologies

    MANASSAS, VA, March 17 /CNW/ - Catch the Wind Ltd. (TSX-V: CTW.S)
announced today the first-ever commercial sale of its Vindicator(R) laser wind
sensor (LWS) to AXYS Technologies, a provider of environmental data
acquisition, processing and telemetry systems for marine and terrestrial
applications.
    AXYS will install the Vindicator(R) LWS on one of its data collection
buoys to determine the viability of wind energy production in off-shore
environments through the accurate measurement of wind speed and direction.

accurate forward wind measurement, it also demonstrates the Vindicator's

    The Vindicator(R) LWS uses laser technology combined with Doppler radar
techniques to analyze air particle movement and determine wind speed and
direction. The Vindicator's primary use is to improve the performance of wind
turbines, resulting in more energy production and reduced maintenance costs.
    AXYS and Catch the Wind have also entered into an OEM distribution
agreement pursuant to which AXYS is granted a license to combine and integrate
the Vindicator(R) LWS with custom AXYS salt/fresh water fixed and floating
platforms, and sell the bundled products worldwide.
