OTTAWA, Nov. 18 /CNW/ - The Salvation Army will launch its 2009 Christmas Kettle Campaign on Thursday, November 19, 2009 St. Laurent Centre's Centre Court, 1200 St. Laurent Blvd., beginning at 12:15 p.m.

    WHEN:   Thursday, November 19, beginning at 12:15 p.m.

    WHY:    This event marks the beginning of the annual Christmas campaign
            in the City of Ottawa. The 118-year old campaign funds local
            programs that provide support to more than 5000 families in need
            across Ottawa.

The 2009 Christmas Kettle campaign goal is $500,000.
