Advisory - Scouts plan to give away 30,000 Bags of Scout Popcorn


    Scout Popcorn Kicks-off at event with Toronto Argonauts and Cheerleaders

    TORONTO, Sept. 1 /CNW Telbec/ - A team of Scouts Canada volunteers plan
to give away more than 30,000 bags of freshly popped Scout Popcorn at
Yonge-Dundas Square to raise awareness of their annual fundraiser supporting
Scouting activities. Championing the campaign is the Toronto Argonauts, whose
Cheerleaders will provide a special appearance.WHO:     Scouts Canada (youth members, volunteers, Chief Commissioner

    WHAT:    30,000 bags of Scout Popcorn will be given away along with free
             food, live music, games and raffle prizes

    WHEN:    September 3, 2009, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

    WHERE:   Yonge-Dundas Square (2 Dundas Street East)

    WHY:     To raise awareness of Scouts Canada's official fundraiser, Scout
             PopcornScout Popcorn, sold directly through Scout members from September to
November, is Scouts Canada's official fundraiser. With about 60 per cent of
the proceeds going back to Scouting, the campaign helps groups fund outdoor
equipment, uniforms and exciting camping trips.
