Media Advisory - Privacy and data security issues to be discussed at CA Toolkit launch

Ontario's Information and Privacy Commissioner to speak on current
    privacy challenges

TORONTO, Nov. 12 /CNW/ - A special event is being held Monday, November 16, 2009 in Toronto to officially launch "The Canadian Privacy and Data Security Toolkit for Small and Medium Enterprises".

The easy-to-use toolkit, published by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA), provides practical guidance about how companies can effectively address data security and privacy risks. The toolkit was authored by Claudiu Popa, a security industry veteran and president of Informatica Security Corporation. The informative CICA publication uniquely features a foreword written by Jennifer Stoddart, Privacy Commissioner of Canada and an introductory chapter by Dr. Ann Cavoukian, Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario.

Dr. Cavoukian and Popa will provide their thoughts on current privacy and data security issues at the Toronto launch.

The event is being hosted by the CICA and Ryerson University's Privacy and Cyber Crime Institute.
