/R E P E A T -- Media Advisory - Invitation - News conference - 2009 Operation Red Nose teams up with Insurance Bureau of Canada to combat impaired driving this holiday season/

HALIFAX, Nov. 10 /CNW/ - Operation Red Nose, in collaboration with its provincial sponsor, Insurance Bureau of Canada, are joining forces to help keep Nova Scotia roads safer during the holiday season.

Operation Red Nose is a free designated driver service that is run by hundreds of volunteers who provide a safe ride home to holiday revellers in their own vehicles.

At a news conference to be held on Thursday, November 12 at 10:30 am, Don Spicer of the Halifax Regional Police and Insp. Joanne Crampton of the Halifax detachment of the RCMP, Corinne MacLellan, Halifax Operation Red Nose coordinator, NSLC VP Rick Perkins, the Hon. Minister of Transportation Infrastructure Renewal, Bill Estabrooks and Bill Adams, Vice-President, Atlantic, IBC, will announce details of the 2009 program.
