Media Advisory - Cyber crime is now the most significant challenge facing law enforcement organizations in Canada


    CALGARY, May 20 /CNW Telbec/ - All media outlets are invited to attend a
major announcement focusing on the findings from a nationwide Deloitte survey
commissioned by the Canadian Association of Police Boards to determine the
magnitude and impact of cyber crime on Canadians. The survey was funded by
Public Safety Canada, the Government of Alberta Solicitor General and Public
Security and the City of Calgary.
    This news conference will bring together leaders and dignitaries in the
area of security, policing, research and governmental affairs to speak about
key findings from the survey.- Presenters and speakers will discuss the issues, the impact on
      Canadians and the possible solutions. On-site interviews and photo
      opportunities will be available.

    - A special presentation on "future exploits" will be conducted by
      Dr. Tom Keenan, a well-known cyber crime expert and University of
      Calgary adjunct professor.

    - A media kit will be available for those in attendance. At 1:30 p.m.
      (Calgary time) Wednesday, May 21, 2008, a copy of the survey may also
      be downloaded from the Canadian Association of Police Boards' website
      at www.capb.ca.
