Eden Oak/Oak Bay takes SEVEN awards!
GREATER TORONTO, April 28 /CNW/ - The year's most outstanding builders,
communities, projects and people were honoured at the 28th Annual Home Builder
Awards presented by the Building Industry & Land Development Association
(BILD) and attended by more than 950 home builders, developers and associate
members.
North Star Homes garnered the coveted Home Builder of the Year award,
which goes to the builder who sets the standard for the rest of the industry
in terms of quality, service and customer commitment (see separate news
release).
For the second straight year, Tridel was named Green Builder of the Year,
high-rise, while Berkshire Homes took Green Builder of the Year honours among
low-rise builders (see separate news release).
Tridel's Metrogate development in Scarborough was awarded Best Community
Development, High-rise while Intracorp took home the award for Best Community
Development, Low-rise, for Meadows in the Glen, near Georgetown, along with
the award for best new home design, single detached over 4,000 square feet (a
Wayne Cassidy & Co. design) and best low-rise sales office, under 1,800 square
feet.
Project of the Year, high-rise, was awarded to L Tower, by Fernbrook
Homes and Cityzen Developments with Munge // Leung: Design Associates and L.A.
Inc.
The Project of the Year, low-rise, award went to Eden Oak, for Oak Bay, a
resort community on Georgian Bay at Honey Harbour, which garnered an
unprecedented seven awards in total include best marketing campaign, best
sales office, best logo, best direct mail, best newspaper ad and best
brochure. The Eden Oak team included BAM Builder Advertising and Marketing and
RN Design.
Freed Developments with L.A. Inc. was a triple award winner taking three
trophies for 650 King West.
Double honours went to Aspen Ridge Homes, who took the award for Best
Building Design for VU Condominiums, along with the award for best suite
design, over 1,500 square feet for Suite No. 9 at 77 Charles West.
Great Gulf Homes with Cecconi Simone took Best Suite Design under 750
square feet for The Stirling at X Condominium and Best Website
(greatgulfhomes.com), low-rise, with credit to McBrain Sharp Marketing and
Communications and Shropshire Communications.
H & R Developments Executive Jeffrey Ellis was the recipient of the Riley
Brethour award bestowed for outstanding and consistent professional
achievement in residential sales and marketing.
In other sales and marketing categories, Empire Communities Beyond the
Sea sales team of Natalia Diamond, Kristy Anderson and Jennifer Kehoe was
recognized for outstanding success in selling three buildings virtually
overnight while Monarch's Upper Danforth sales team of Susan Mazotta-Dennehy
and Andrea Gabor from PMA Brethour took the best salesperson or team,
low-rise, award.
Other award winning new homes sales and/or marketing people were Peter
Comyns of PMA Brethour Group and Natascha Pieper of Baywood Homes.
With more than 1,500 members, the Building Industry & Land Development
Association, formed through the merger of the Greater Toronto Home Builders'
Association and Urban Development Institute/Ontario is the voice of the
residential land development, home building and professional renovation
