GO is your ride to the CNE

    TORONTO, Aug. 13, 2008 /CNW/ - It's that time of year - the Canadian
National Exhibition (CNE) has arrived and GO Transit can help get you there.
GO will once again run additional service to this year's CNE beginning opening
day, Friday, August 15. Extra weekday trips on the Lakeshore line will run
throughout the CNE, which goes until September 1.
For customer convenience, tickets for the CNE can be purchased at Union
Station or any Lakeshore line GO station.
GO Transit is proud to again recognize our war veterans with free travel
to and from this year's Warriors' Day Parade at the CNE. On Saturday, August
16, war veterans and a companion may ride free on all GO services. Veterans do
not need to purchase a ticket, but are asked to please wear their medals,
beret, blazer, uniform, or something that clearly identifies them as a war
vet.
To further honour our war veterans, immediate families of deceased
veterans may also ride free that day. GO asks that relatives carry something
to identify their relation to the late veteran, such as service papers or an
identification card.
The Canadian International Air Show wraps up the CNE with its Celebrating
Freedom Through Flight show this Labour Day weekend, August 30 to September 1.
Again, GO Transit will offer additional weekend and holiday service on the
Lakeshore line.
GO Transit reminds all adult monthly pass holders that they can take one
companion on the train or bus for free on weekends and Labour Day Monday.
