Rutter Secures Multi-Million Contract For U.S. Stryker Retrofit Program


    ST. JOHN'S, Nov. 6 /CNW/ - Rutter Inc. (TSX: RUT) announced today that
its subsidiary, Rutter Technologies, has been awarded a $14.6 million (CDN)
contract for a new power distribution assembly for the U. S. Army's Stryker
vehicle. The contract was awarded by General Dynamics Land Systems - Canada
and is an integral component of a fleet-wide retrofit program for the vehicle.
    Within the last six months, General Dynamics has awarded Rutter
approximately $30 million of work for completion within calendar year 2009.
Based in London, ON, General Dynamics Land Systems - Canada specializes in the
design and manufacture of a family of light-armored vehicles, including the
eight-wheeled Stryker sold to the U. S. Army.

    Under this contract for the Stryker upgrade program, Rutter will
manufacture an assembly that will increase the vehicle's electrical current
carrying capacity to improve its safety, survivability and functionality. All
the work will be done at Rutter's manufacturing facility on Thorburn Road in
St. John's with first deliveries of the 14-month contract scheduled for early
2009. As a result of Rutter's order book with General Dynamics, the Company
will hire additional employees and add a second daily shift in its
manufacturing operations.
