MONTREAL, Nov. 7 /CNW Telbec/ - The spectacular equestrian odyssey
Cavalia returns in the spring of 2009. This time, the White Big Top and its 75
two and four legged artists will be setting up in Montreal. Tickets will be
on-sale Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 10 am.
From 2003 to 2006, Cavalia galloped across North America, taking the
public and critics by storm. During the past two years, the show has been
touring European capitals where the public and the press alike received it
with great enthusiasm. In Brussels, Le Soir wrote "A true triumph", while in
Madrid El Pais described it "Like a dream come true" and in Berlin BZ
commented "Hot to trot, straight to the heart."
"Cavalia is alive and in constant evolution. Through the years, there
have been many novelties in the show. It has grown with its new horses and
several new artists. The public will now be able to discover or rediscover the
show. Whether on two or four legs, each artist adds a personal touch, which
makes each Cavalia performance a show unique in itself", said Normand
Latourelle, President and Artistic Director.
Cavalia, a show like no other created to date, is a lavish orchestration
of multimedia, equestrian and performing arts. Often qualified as an equine
ballet, this dream of freedom, complicity and harmony, from the imagination of
Normand Latourelle, is a spectacular and moving tribute to the relationship
between humans and horses throughout history.
Charged with poetry and pure emotion and in dream-like virtual settings,
the show combines acrobatics, dance, aerial stunts and live music to the
equestrian arts. Under the world's largest touring big top, a 50 metre-wide
stage allows the horses to express themselves in all their beauty, their grace
and their strength, at times in total liberty.
Since 2003, Cavalia has visited 30 cities in the United States, Canada,
Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain and Portugal. One of the largest
touring shows in the world with its 150 employees, 40 horses, 35 artists and
100 trucks of equipment, Cavalia has charmed more than 2 million spectators to
date.
