VANCOUVER, April 17 /CNW/ - Volkswagen Canada is showing that compromises
are not necessary when choosing to buy a green car. Case in point:
Volkswagen's new 2009 low-emission TDI Clean Diesel Jetta Sedan and Jetta
Wagon are high on performance, style, functionality and are affordably priced.
The TDI Clean Diesel engine is designed to run on today's low sulphur
diesel which means great fuel economy and less emissions produced per
kilometre travelled. The engine is also designed to accept B5 bio-diesel, an
even "cleaner" fuel.
The TDI (turbo diesel injection) already has created a loyal fan base
following over 30 years of TDI leadership in Canada. The TDI loyalists are
drawn to its tremendous torque characteristics, which translates into more
grunt and low engine speeds, and the new TDI Clean Diesel engine delivers even
more. Indeed, being green has never been so "gutsy".
Volkswagen's vision is to ensure unrestrained mobility for future
generations through economically and ecologically sustainable solutions. As
one of the largest car manufacturers in the world, Volkswagen takes
responsibility for developing cars which are ecologically sound. At the heart
of innovation is the development of highly efficient drivetrains, and the
exploration of alternative fuels that use diverse energy sources and, in
particular, CO2-neutral biomass. This will ensure proactive climate protection
and conserve limited resources.
Founded in 1952, Volkswagen Canada is headquartered in Ajax, Ontario. It
is a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG, headquartered in Wolfsburg, Germany.
