Move over Jonas Brothers...Rihanna Takes A Bow and Britney Spears
continues her comeback tourTORONTO, Dec. 22 /CNW/ - Yahoo! Music Canada today released its list of
the most popular videos and artists of 2008, and it's girl power all the way.
Female pop artists represent seven of the top 10 videos on Yahoo! Music Canada
in 2008. Rihanna caps off an incredible year with the video for her hit song
Take A Bow earning top spot, while pop princess Britney Spears continued her
comeback in 2008 with two videos in the top 10 - Break the Ice and Womanizer.
Canadian rocker Avril Lavigne's video The Best Damn Thing also made the top
10, appearing in the seventh spot.
Girl next door Miley Cyrus had a breakout year on Yahoo!, taking the top
spot on the Top 10 searched for Artists of 2008 list, while Britney Spears
reappears in second spot this year. Rihanna, who was in eighth spot last year,
surged into third spot based on the success of her Good Girl Gone Bad album,
which has earned her six hit singles. Lindsay Lohan is a surprise in fourth
spot (could her relationship with star DJ Sam Ronson be rubbing off?) while
the hit boy brother band, the Jonas Brothers, rounds out the top five.
"2008 was definitely a breakout year for female pop stars," says Andy
