MONTREAL, April 7 /CNW Telbec/ - Globe Electric Company Inc., a leading
designer, manufacturer and marketer of consumer lighting and electrical
products, is proud to announce the addition of thermostats to its extensive
range of offerings. The new collection will be in retail outlets as early as
Globe Electric is working with AED Electronics Inc. and Howard Rosen, the
inventor and manufacturer of the thermostats for the OEM market. Globe has
exclusive rights to bring this patented technology to the retail market under
their Globe enersaver(R) brand.
Like all Globe products, a strong emphasis was placed on the ease of use
of the complete line. Every model in the thermostat program is user-friendly,
features a large LCD screen, and incorporates patented, state-of-the-art
technology geared toward power management and temperature control.
The innovative technology incorporated into this product line further
reinforces the energy-saving initiatives of Globe Electric. All the models are
certified by ENERGY STAR(R) and the full line of programmable thermostats is
designed with important energy-saving features. The baseboard models feature
the most innovative efficiency feature: an occupancy sensor that bypasses
programming and decreases the temperature when no one is in the room. It is
the only one of its kind available at retail.
The touch-screen models are equipped with a patented energy watch
calculator to track energy use and the "Spin-n-Click" models feature a
recovery mode that can preheat your home so that the desired temperature is
achieved by the time you walk in.
"We are extremely excited about the launch of the thermostat category,"
said Edward Weinstein, President and CEO of Globe. "We have spent a long time
collaborating with AED Electronics to bring this line of products to the
market. By making programmable thermostats consumer-friendly, we are making it
simple for people to bring them home and benefit from their energy and
