WHAT:
-----
A used cooking oil recycling pilot at the Burnaby Still Creek Recycling
Depot is set to start on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 11:30am. This year
long pilot project, a partnership between ERM BioSource, The Recycling
Council of British Columbia (RCBC), and the City of Burnaby, aims to
collect and divert used cooking oil from disposal by residents, and reuse
it for the production of biodiesel. This is the first pilot of its kind
in Canada.
KEY POINT:
----------
The pilot project looks to address the loophole in current provincial
legislation with regards to residential waste oil.
