MONTREAL, Jan. 28 /CNW/ - Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, one of the most
respected law firms in Canada, announced today that it has committed to a
long-term sponsorship agreement with Clara Hughes, as she prepares to defend
her gold medal in speed skating at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
One of Canada's most accomplished Olympic athletes, Clara Hughes won gold
and silver medals in speed skating at the 2006 Winter Games. She is the only
Canadian, and fourth athlete ever, to win medals at both the Summer and Winter
Games, in cycling and speed skating respectively. She was named to the Order
of Canada in December 2007.
"Osler is delighted to be able to support such an accomplished athlete
and committed individual. We admire Clara's commitment to excellence and
dedication to achieving her goals," said Ward Sellers, Managing Partner of
Osler's Montréal office. "We look forward to a long-term relationship with
Clara. Canadians love their Olympians, but these athletes need our support
before the Games, as well as during them."
