increased by $0.1 million or 1.3% compared to the third quarter of 2006 to
$4.2 million and by $0.01 to $0.40 per share respectively. Net earnings and
earnings per share in the first nine months of 2007 increased by $1.6 million
or 10.5% compared to the first nine months of 2006 to $16.6 million and by
$0.14 to $1.56 per share respectively. The increases in both the third quarter
and the first nine months of 2007 were attributable to improved earnings in
the funeral division as a result of higher sales. Earnings were affected by
pre-tax termination expenses of $1.9 million in the third quarter and $2.1
million in the first nine months of 2007.

    Arbor Memorial Services Inc. owns 41 cemeteries, 27 crematoria, 3
reception centres located on cemetery premises and 93 funeral homes in eight
provinces of Canada.
