Media Advisory - Assembly of First Nations National Chief Phil Fontaine to deliver major speech to Canada's Mineral Industry in Toronto tomorrow (friday)


    OTTAWA, Oct. 11 /CNW Telbec/ - National Chief Phil Fontaine will deliver
a speech entitled "Progress through Partnerships: Exploring Economic
Opportunities between First Nations and the Mineral Industry", which will
include a warning that both industry and governments must fully consult with
First Nations in order to avoid the increasing number of conflicts that have
been arising across the country.
    Highlights of the speech will also include expectations on the Throne
Speech, highlights of the AFN's 2008 pre-budget submission, and updates on
Specific Claims draft legislation and the AFN's Corporate Challenge.Date:      Friday, October 12
