TORONTO, March 5 /CNW/ - Rogers and Vervegirl magazine announced today
that they are presenting the Love Music Speaking Tour with Keshia Chanté. Gold
Certified Recording Artist, 2005 Juno winner and 2007 Juno Nominee for Best
R&B/Soul Recording of the Year, Keshia Chanté is one of Canada's fastest
rising stars. She is traveling to eight high schools across Canada to speak to
teens about how music has positively influenced her life.
The tour was designed by Vervegirl magazine as a way to connect with its
readers using music, one of the most motivational aspects of a teen's life.
Moreover, it provides a platform for discussion on the importance of music
programs in the high school curriculum.
"Rogers Wireless demonstrates its commitment to music and youth by
providing new ways to experience music through innovative devices and
platforms such as our MP3 phones and Rogers MusicStore," says Susan Gordon,
Vice President, Regional Marketing. "The Love Music Speaking Tour with Keshia
Chanté is a natural fit with Rogers' on-going regional initiatives bringing
music to schools through events and programs such as the School Rocks, JamVan
and EdgeNext Big Thing."
"Vervegirl(TM) is Canada's most read lifestyle magazine for young women
with a direct connection to over one third of females 14-18," says Kaaren
Whitney-Vernon, Publisher of Vervegirl. "Extending our media partnership with
Rogers through this promotion builds upon the relationship we have with
students and the role music plays in their lives."
