Canadian Television Fund congratulates Gemini Award winners including 41 for CTF-funded shows


    TORONTO, Oct. 29 /CNW/ - The Canadian Television Fund (CTF), Canada's
largest direct funder of television production, congratulates the winners of
the 22nd Annual Gemini Awards. CTF-funded shows from across Canada received
182 nominations, resulting in 41 wins for their creators, casts and crews. The
CTF funds programming in the genres of Children's and Youth, Documentary,
Drama, and Variety and Performing Arts.
    "We're proud to sponsor the Gemini Awards and join the Academy of
Canadian Cinema and Television in recognizing the extraordinary talent that
makes up our television industry," said CTF President Valerie Creighton.
"CTF-funded shows, such as Slings and Arrows, Degrassi: The Next Generation,
and the Canada Award-winning Little Mosque on the Prairie, as well as
outstanding documentaries like the Donald Brittain Award-winning Fatherland,
are just some examples of critically acclaimed programming embraced by
Canadian audiences. We congratulate them on their success."
