SASKATOON, June 10 /CNW Telbec/ - The competition is Canada's largest
national multi-trade and technology competition for Canadian students and
apprentices. The 13th Canadian Skills Competition was held at the Prairieland
Park on June 7th and 8th.
Skills/Compétences Canada holds annual Olympic-style competitions that
test the skills of young people at secondary and post-secondary levels in
trade and technology areas. Gold medalists from each province or territory
compete in the annually hosted Canadian Skills Competition.
The event involves more than five hundred (500) Canadian youth competing
in more than 40 trade and technology contest areas. Industry, government,
business and education work in partnership to profile the valuable career
opportunities in trades and technologies as well as provide information about
the educational requirements and supports for these occupations.
