Join the Conversation and Help Plan Toronto's Electricity Future

Do we have enough electrical infrastructure to meet Toronto's future needs? How much do we need to invest to maintain or improve reliability? The Central Toronto Integrated Regional Resource Plan (IRRP) looks at where demand for electricity is growing and how this can be managed over the next 25 years. TORONTO, Sept. 4, 2014 /CNW/ - Toronto Hydro-Electric System Limited ("Toronto Hydro") invites its customers to help shape the development of an electricity system plan to meet the needs of Central Toronto over the next 25 years. The electricity demand in this area is one of the largest in the province and has grown steadily over the past several years.

Customer feedback will influence the Integrated Regional Resource Plan (IRRP), which is being jointly developed by four organizations – Ontario Power Authority (OPA), the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), Hydro One Networks Inc. and Toronto Hydro. The IRRP is intended to help ensure there is enough electricity to reliably and securely meet the electricity demands of Central Toronto in the future.

A Discussion Workbook about Central Toronto's IRRP will be available online for approximately five weeks. Toronto Hydro customers can participate by completing the workbook online at torontohydro.com/haveyoursay or by attending one of the scheduled webinars:

Date: Thursday, September 11, 2014
