/R E P E A T -- Hurry Up and Slow Down at Montréal Space for Life - Michel Faubert's poetry puts beauty into words at the Botanical Garden/
MONTRÉAL, July 9, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - At 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, The Arts will be putting on a show at the Garden with Michel Faubert, as part of the Centre Stage series. Outside, in the heart of the enchanting Montréal Botanical Garden, the prolific musician and singer will be displaying his storytelling talents as he transports us to a fascinating imaginary universe with his La Mensongère show. That same Sunday, you can stroll along the paths and admire the flowers in bloom, take a break next to the lindens and listen to the Forestare guitar ensemble, and admire circus performers doing amazing feats near the Aquatic Gardens. Then top off your visit by slowing down and enjoying the breeze next to the large ponds. Stretch out in one of the Adirondack chairs and forget all your cares.
"The Arts Put on a Show at the Garden"
As Charles Dauphinais, the artistic director invited by the Botanical Garden to create the concept for The Arts Put on a Show at the Garden, points out, "In the heart of these blooming art-filled gardens, we reclaim our right to tranquility. All summer long, this marriage of nature, art and visitors will create moments of pure enchantment and amazement at the Botanical Garden." He invites everyone to hang out in the Garden all day, strolling here and there and seizing wonderfully entrancing moments, as some remarkable artists help you to appreciate the charms of the delicate blooms around you.
Taking it easy, thanks to Montréal Space for Life
This summer, Montréal Space for Life is hosting a program of activities revolving around the joys of relaxation. Through original, intriguing experiences, visitors can slow their steps and get a different view of nature.
Remember that Les Escales Improbables de Montréal will be inviting everyone to enjoy Musical Siestas at the Montréal Insectarium every Saturday. In August there will be Escales Sonores: alcoves featuring four immersive environments to soothe visitors with design, music and nectar-bearing plants. At the Biodôme, sloths are the stars of the show in Nature's Slowpokes, by artistic director Marie-Claire Lagacé. At a time when the world just seems to be moving faster every day, come take a seat, watch these champions of indolence taking things at their own relaxed pace, and revel in the sense of well-being. Lastly, in the Milky Way Theatre at the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium, you can lie back and drift away as you admire the view of Montréal's most beautiful starry sky.
Montréal Space for Life is made up of four attractions on the same site: the Botanical Garden, Biodôme, Insectarium and Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium. The four prestigious municipal institutions form Canada's largest natural science museum complex. Together, they are launching a daring, creative urban movement, urging everyone to rethink the connection between humankind and nature and cultivate a new way of living.
