TORONTO, July 24, 2014 /CNW/ - City Chase, Canada's Largest Urban Adventure Series, is back for its 11th annual races in Toronto and Ottawa this summer. All funds raised by teams will be donated to The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada.

For six consecutive years, City Chase was recognized as Canada's Best Sporting Event at the Annual Canadian Event Industry Awards, and has been recognized as Canada's Best Adventure Race by the readers of Get Out There Magazine. Over 1,000 Chasers are completing obstacles, called ChasePoints, located in hidden spots around the city to test teams' resourcefulness, courage, intellect, sense of humour, and physical ability. The first team to complete 10 ChasePoints and cross the finish line is the winning team!

There are fun and interactive fundraising benchmarks in place, such as a 'Free ChasePoint' at $75.00 raised. Helpful bonuses such as these can really create an advantage for teams on event day, so it's a great incentive for participants to achieve their fundraising goals.

"City Chase is designed to push people's boundaries and get everyone to step out of their comfort zones a bit. It's also a fantastic, fun day that creates great memories, and I think that's why people come back every year. City Chase is a perfect event in that it reflects the tenacity and strength of the Children's Wish families that undergo incredible hardships. We are so happy to be supporting Children's Wish this year," says Anthony Woods, Director of City Chase.

"We are so pleased to be the recipient charity for City Chase 2014," comments Sandra Harris, Director, Ontario Region. "The support Children's Wish receives from events like these mean that the more than 600 pending wishes we have in Ontario can be realized."

The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada

Each year, thousands of Canadian children between the ages of three and 17 are diagnosed with a life threatening illness.  Since 1984, The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada has worked tirelessly to grant exceptional wishes to over 20,000 children and their families.

This year, the Foundation expects to grant over 1,000 new wishes and is proud to have never refused a wish to an eligible child, and with the help of volunteers and generous donors, is able to grant nearly three wishes every day.  Each wish is an individual adventure, carefully structured to meet the needs of a particular child and family. The Foundation is a national charity with chapters in every province and territory. Visit www.childrenswish.ca for more information.
