AVG Announces Inaugural Cloud Summit for Partners
AMSTERDAM and SAN FRANCISCO, July 23, 2014 /CNW/ -- AVG Technologies N.V. (NYSE: AVG), the online security company for 187 million active users, today announced dates and details of its first ever AVG Cloud Partner Summit for international partners and Managed Services Providers (MSPs). Taking place October 20th-22nd 2014 at The Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort in Chandler, Arizona, the event aims to provide delegates with an unprecedented opportunity to learn how they can achieve profitable, sustainable business growth within a faster timeframe.
The three-day event will feature keynote presentations from dynamic presenters such as Guy Kawasaki and AVG CEO Gary Kovacs. Currently chief evangelist of Canva, an online graphics-design service, Guy Kawasaki is an executive fellow at the Haas School of Business at U.C. Berkeley and former advisor to the Motorola business unit of Google and chief evangelist of Apple. In his lively and entertaining address he will share his concepts for the future of the high-tech industry. Gary Kovacs will provide insight into AVG's vision for the future of the small business security market online and the need to no longer simply protect a company's devices but its data and people too.
Also presenting will be Mike Foreman, AVG's General Manager, SMB, who will discuss AVG's commitment to building strong, long-lasting partnerships as well as highlighting some of the opportunities that industry trends such as growth of the Internet of Things will bring to the Channel. To follow, AVG's Senior Director of Product Management, David Haadsma, will provide delegates with a sneak preview of AVG SMB's product roadmap.
"As further evidence of our commitment to continuously develop fresh ways for partners to derive value from working with us, we are laying the groundwork to establish our Cloud Partner Summit as one of the best in the industry," said Mike Foreman. "A lot of hard work has gone into creating an exciting program of inspirational content and valuable networking opportunities that will help enable sustainable growth and business diversification for our partners."
The Summit is the perfect forum for AVG partners and MSPs to network with their peers and Channel technology providers. They can pose their questions to key members of AVG's senior executive team as well as address their AVG product questions with engineers and developers in the on-site Tech Lab.
From technical training to breakout sessions the event offers partners a broad spectrum of opportunities to enrich their knowledge and enhance their understanding of how to take their own business forward. The breakout sessions will cover sales, marketing, business, enablement and technology - all of which are essential to today's ambitious IT providers. At the end of Day Two there will be a gala dinner and an opportunity to pick up AVG awards in a variety of categories.
AVG's small business security portfolio is supported by a worldwide network of more than 10,000 partners. Its pedigree in this area makes it ideally positioned to help IT companies and MSPs harness cost-effective, cloud-based tools in order to transition into fully-fledged managed services businesses. In October 2012, AVG introduced AVG CloudCare™, a cloud-based administration platform. It offers partners a new way to implement and manage services such as: antivirus, content filtering, online backup and email security services for their small business customers.
In June 2013 it added AVG Managed Workplace®, an open ecosystem Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tool. AVG's vision is to make the lives of MSPs and their small business customers as easy as possible, regardless of whether staff are in the office, at home, or on the road.
