STRATHROY, ON, July 18, 2014 /CNW/ - For over 15 years Accucaps Industries Ltd., an innovation-based pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing organization, has been a proud supplier to the life-saving vitamin A supplementation program for the Micronutrient Initiative and this year is no different.

When vitamin A deficient children receive a twice-annual dose of vitamin A, child blindness is reduced by up to 70% and child mortality rates decrease by up to 24%.  For this reason, high-strength vitamin A supplementation is recognized as one of the most cost-effective ways to improve child survival in the world's most vulnerable populations.

Over the years Accucaps has supplied over 4 billion vitamin A capsules to the Micronutrient Initiative.
