Toronto Caterer Tony Loschiavo named one of the leaders changing the hospitality industry after a year of new business ventures and milestone anniversaries

TORONTO, June 18, 2014 /CNW/ - BizBash, the leading trade media for event professionals, has announced its 2014 list of the most innovative people and brands in events and has named Tony Loschiavo, L-eat Catering Toronto, as the only Canadian caterer among the leaders of innovation. Tony Loschiavo has stood out as an event innovator and groundbreaker—joining an elite group that proves the value of face-to-face events, empowers peers to consider the unconventional, and reveals a redefined image of what the industry is today.

Tony Loschiavo founded L-eat Catering as a sandwich-delivery service and quickly turned it into the full-service custom catering business it is today, and celebrated its 30th anniversary in March of last year. Located adjacent to L-eat Catering, PAESE, an Italian restaurant Loschiavo opened shortly after L-eat Catering, also celebrates a milestone this year, 25 years as a neighbourhood favourite in North York. The L-eat Group was born in 2010 when a second PAESE location on King St. West was opened, and 2 years later, a downtown grab-and-go café called L-eat Express solidifying The L-eat Group as a triple threat in the hospitality industry.

Among Loschiavo's many innovations in 2013 was a new catering division that opened in September called The Great Gobbler, offering year-round turkey dinners in Toronto. No longer limited to Thanksgiving and Christmas, he believes turkey dinners are so tasty they should be available from your local caterer anytime of year!

In November of last year, L-eat Catering was asked to operate the Royal Court Restaurant at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair serving thousands of sophisticated diners throughout the 10-day exhibition at the Direct Energy Centre.

Whether it's new business ventures in the hospitality industry, menu innovations such as avocado ice cream and lobster popcorn, or unique décor items such as our salmon chandeliers that created a social media frenzy at a 250-person gala, L-eat Catering seeks to always create the unimaginable and elevate the culinary experience to new heights.

"Tony Loschiavo was willing to take risks and find opportunities to create authentic engagement and value, which is why we decided to highlight him and his work", says BizBash editor in chief Anna Sekula.
