Teleena Launches Global Mobile Data Service
Network-agnostic SIM Platform Enables Low-Cost Global Data Roaming
NIEUWEGEIN, the Netherlands, May 26, 2014 /CNW/ - Teleena, a leading global mobile services enabler, today announced its Global Mobile Data Service (GMDS), which enables any mobile device manufacturer, machine-to-machine service provider, or brand to act as a virtual global mobile operator, connecting cellular mobile devices to hundreds of mobile data networks globally.
GMDS is powered by Teleena's Smart SIM, a unique network-agnostic subscriber identity module (SIM) platform that enables card-based, embedded and software-based SIMs to be programmed dynamically over-the-air to register onto any wireless network. Smart SIM can be preloaded with any mobile Operating System (OS) or downloaded, so distributing the technology does not require complex global logistics.
GMDS allows mobile service providers and brands to extend mobile services globally almost instantaneously. Teleena leverages its partnerships with mobile carriers around the world to offer the best quality and most competitive data services. Through these partnerships, the Smart SIM can be assigned remotely to the best suited local network depending on a subscriber's location, so the subscriber benefits from the same quality and competitive pricing enjoyed by a local user.
"Our Smart SIM technology and carrier partnerships allow any device to connect to the Internet anywhere, any time," said Timo Smit, Teleena co-founder and Business Development Director, "GMDS opens up myriad opportunities for mobile operators, device makers, brands and applications providers to drive more value to subscribers through affordable global mobile services."
Teleena has global data connectivity capability in over 200 countries, and is constantly expanding its global network of Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) to offer its customers high quality mobile data at competitive prices. The company has agreements in place with a global device manufacturer and anticipates completing similar agreements with Operating System (OS) providers, MNOs and global brands.
"We are constantly enhancing our global partner network and have attracted interest from several large regional MNOs, who clearly see the benefits of working with Teleena," said Philip Macridis, Teleena CEO. "Our partners benefit from the large volumes of mobile data in their home operating countries, with the added ability to offer mobile data service to their customers globally, including countries where they do not currently operate."
Teleena is a global leader in managed mobile service solutions to MNO's, Cable Companies, MVNO's and enterprises. Teleena's advanced platform and unique build-and-operate capabilities enable customers to launch innovative and disruptive mobile services quickly and cost effectively. Teleena is one of EMEA's fastest growing technology companies (Deloitte Technology Fast 500 2013). The company was recently named "Best MVNE - Best Enabler of MVNOs" for 2014 by the MVNO World Congress.
