Béliveau is the director of the Molecular Medicine Laboratory and Scientific Director of the Chair in Prevention and Treatment of Cancer at the University of Quebec in Montreal. He shares many values and beliefs with Lassonde.

Béliveau's expertise and research are recognized by the international scientific community. He has written more than 240 papers for various international medical journals, and he is the author of several best-selling books such as Foods that Fight Cancer, Cooking with Foods that Fight Cancer and Eating Well Living Well. His books have been translated into more than 25 languages in 35 countries.

In Quebec, Béliveau's many public lectures in recent years, especially on the subject of chronic disease prevention, have made him a well-known personality and respected scientific communicator. Lassonde is confident that its association with Richard Béliveau will prove beneficial in enabling the company to offer consumers a wider range of healthy options.
