Media Advisory - Kites to take over the skies at the 25th annual Four Winds Kite Festival
-Kortright Centre for Conservation celebrates 25 years of kite flying -
TORONTO, April 30, 2014 /CNW/ - It's time to look up, way up and see the fabulous and fascinating kites that will take flight. Thousands of visitors attend this event to see many large, graceful kites colour the sky above Kortright Centre for Conservation at the Four Winds Kite Festival. In 2014, the longest running kite festival in the GTA is celebrating its 25th year of bringing family fun to festival goers! The event is a great family outing where you can see professional kite flying demonstrations and enjoy some great springtime activities and wind themed interpretive hikes.

Toronto Kite Flyers Demonstration: 11:00am-3:30pm: Experts perform kite flying demonstrations including Sport Kites, Fighter Kites, Teddy Bear Parachuting Drop, Running with the Bols, and Great Rokkaku Battle. Demonstrations will be performed throughout the day as wind and weather permits.
Wind Themed Crafts 10:00am-4:00pm: Throughout the festival visit the Education Booth on the kite field to create your own wind themed crafts to take home. In addition to crafts, our experienced staff will have hands-on activities and can provide information about the site and our programs.
'Whistling Wind' Interpretive Walk: 10:30 am & 2:30 pm (Register and Meet at the Education Booth located on the Kite Field)
Make your own Kite: 11:00pm-3:00pm (Meet at the Education Booth located on the Kite Field). Additional cost of $4 for 1 kite or $6 for 2 kites
Teddy Bear Parachute Drop: Watch as these cuddly bears don their skydiving gear and drop from the sky. Drops will take place throughout the festival as wind conditions permit.
25 year anniversary celebration: To celebrate our 25th anniversary we will have a bouncy castle, face painting and henna body art. On Sunday at 3pm we will have words from TRCA and the Toronto Kite Flyers Association and will be serving cake.
