Doors now open to Complexe Capitale Hélicoptère in Quebec City
The only destination of its kind in the world, sure to delight both aeronautics buffs and the general public
QUEBEC CITY, April 16, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Today marks the launch of a world-class aviation facility in Quebec City. The Complexe Capitale Hélicoptère, located near Quebec City Jean Lesage International Airport, offers a full range of services related to the helicopter industry, while setting out to make its mark as a new tourist destination unlike any other on the market.
The new complex, which is now open to the public, features a breathtaking Discovery Space for visitors of all ages that offers high-performance flight simulators, helicopters on display and interactive ways to discover the helicopter universe.
The Complexe Capitale Hélicoptère – a Groupe Huot property – also offers helicopter tours with GoHelico for a view of Quebec City from above, and features a specialized boutique presenting an exclusive collection of locally designed clothing for helicopter pilots and aviation enthusiasts that's also available to the general public.
This new complex is also home to the corporate headquarters of Capitale Hélicoptère, a specialist in aerial work within North America; an FBO multi-service heliport; and an interior hangar, with corporate and personalized concierge service, for the exclusive use of helicopter owners.
Visitors to the complex will also find the best flight school in Quebec (2014 recipient of the AQTA's Trophée Roland-Simard), an Airmedic base for emergency medical evacuations… and a trendy restaurant-bar, coming soon, to complete the experience.
Owner Stephan Huot and his team take immense pride in presenting this complex to the residents of Quebec City: "The Complexe Capitale Hélicoptère makes the helicopter realm accessible to all. Both residents and visitors to our city can now discover an unexpectedly multi-faceted world… and this cutting-edge facility will also meet the industry's needs. The complex is also, as of now, a unique tourism destination," asserted Stephan Huot.
President and CEO Gabriel Savard sees tourism and entertainment potential that should not go untapped: "The newly opened Complexe Capitale Hélicoptère represents an undisputable landmark that will help make Quebec City a world-class destination in its own right. The tourism industry, both here and elsewhere, has long needed to reinvent itself. Competition is stiff and our planet is chock-full of tourist attractions. Our city is now home to an attractive locale that rivals the greats."
Quebec City residents and visitors are invited to the grand opening this Easter weekend, from April 19 to 21. Attendees can enjoy free helicopter tours, activities, games and lots of other surprises.
The construction of this complex represents a $22-million investment, with more than 150 permanent jobs created in the Quebec City area.
