THYMOX fights back against Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea
SHERBROOKE, QC, March 5, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Laboratoire M2's THYMOX Disinfectant, with its virucidal effect, allows farmers to face Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea (PED), a serious disease that can afflict swine farms.
THYMOX is effective against viruses such as PED
The first cases of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea, a disease currently wreaking havoc in swine farms in the United States, were recently confirmed in Canada. Laboratoire M2's THYMOX Disinfectant allows breeders to effectively protect themselves against the virus causing the disease. "THYMOX has been tested repeatedly by independent laboratories who have confirmed its virucidal efficacy in less than one minute against coronaviruses such as PED," said Serge Auray, President of Laboratoire M2.
Resources are available to help farmers
"PED is a serious threat hovering over an industry that has suffered its share of crises, but farmers should know that they are not left to themselves and that many resources are available to help them," continued Mr. Auray. "Laboratoire M2's experts have recently developed several biosafety guides on behalf of the Fédération des producteurs de porcs du Québec and the Canadian Swine Health Board. Among other things, steps that should be followed when disinfecting farms are described in these documents. These guides are available for free on the Internet*."
Good biosecurity: a great asset
"Pork producers wishing to procure our THYMOX Disinfectant can do so by contacting our national distributor, Syrvet Canada, at 1-888-779-7838, or by visiting its website at www.syrvetcanada.ca", concluded Mr. Auray. "PED is not unavoidable on farms. Good biosecurity, including a disinfection protocol using an effective disinfectant such as THYMOX, is the best asset to maintain a healthy livestock."
