Minister of International Trade, the Honorable Ed Fast, scheduled to address audience at Franco-Mine 2014
TORONTO, Feb. 28, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The Honourable Ed Fast, Canada's Minister of International Trade, along with ministers from Cameroon, Gabon, Mali, and Mauritania are scheduled to address an assembly of mining industry stakeholders at Franco-Mine 2014 in the Regency Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Toronto Hotel at 370 King St. W. in Toronto on Monday, March 3 from 8:00 to 16:30.
Held for the third consecutive year, Franco-Mine 2014 brings together an audience of leaders from business, financial institutions and governments who have an interest in exploration and development of mineral resources in francophone countries, with a focus on Africa. Franco-Mine is organized by the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) in collaboration with the Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada and its Trade Commissioner Service, and the Government of Quebec's Ministry of Natural Resources.
Minister Fast is expected to make an announcement with representatives of the Cameroon government.
A plenary session with mine ministers from Cameroon, Gabon, Mali, and Mauritania, will follow a session with business leaders active in Francophone Africa including Iamgold, Windiga Energy, Groupe Managem and Teranga Gold. Delegations from several African and other French-speaking countries will also be attending.
Fatimata Dia, Director of the Francophonie Institute for Sustainable Development, will deliver a keynote address on the upcoming Francophonie Summit in Dakar to close the event.
