PORT HOPE, ON, Feb. 25, 2014 /CNW/ - Trinity College School (TCS) announced a remarkable commitment to Canadian families and the education of their children with the launch of the Canadian Families Boarding Incentive Programme. Founded two years before Canadian Confederation by The Reverend W.A. Johnson, Trinity College School makes this announcement as the School enters its 150th year. This groundbreaking programme - which offers a 25% tuition savings to Canadian families - marks TCS's landmark anniversary by paying homage to Johnson's mission to provide young Canadians with an outstanding education.

"Nothing like this has ever been done before, but it demonstrates how strongly we believe in what we are doing here at TCS," says Stuart Grainger, Headmaster of Trinity College School. "Providing leadership and educational excellence for our young Canadians has never been more important. This programme demonstrates our commitment to developing Canada's future leaders."

Recognizing the importance of investing in promising, young Canadians, and as a significant way to mark the School's 150th anniversary, Trinity College School is embarking upon a new initiative to attract prospective Canadian students - athletes, academics, musicians, 'mathletes', scientists, artists - to its boarding programme. "Specifically, as of the 2014-2015 school year, we are investing in young Canadians to the tune of approximately $50,000 per student, over four years," says Grainger. "This means that every Canadian boarding student entering Grade 9, making a four-year commitment, will realize a savings of 25% on their tuition fees." This translates to a four-year TCS boarding experience for the price of three years!

"Attending TCS was the single most important decision my parents helped me make," says Tim Magwood, TCS alumni and father of three young children. "It ignited a leadership spark in me and then nurtured it academically, athletically, socially and artistically. I am who I am because of my years at TCS."

The decision to sign up for four years is difficult for many Canadian families. Boarding school fees and the child's time away from home impact the entire family. "Boarding school carries a price tag that cannot be ignored. Boarding school is a tough emotional decision for the whole family. But TCS offers incredible value - what is a more important investment than a great education for your child?" says Magwood.

According to Grainger, you can "look at it this way: if you want to offer your child a top-notch, life-changing boarding experience where they will receive the gold-standard in education, in one of the safest, most culturally-diverse and beautiful countries in the world, this is the perfect time to invest in your child. Call it an investment in young minds, an investment in Canada, an investment in Trinity College School. Consider it a savings to Canadian families. Some may see the 25% savings as a lottery win or a 'signing bonus' in recognition of raising a great kid! Call it what you want; this is a tremendous opportunity for young Canadians to get the full benefit of the full four-year TCS boarding experience."
