Media Alert - Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport Joint Rescue Training

WHO:   The Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport Fire Department, Toronto Fire Services
Squad and the Toronto Police Services Marine Unit.
   
WHAT:  Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is holding ice and cold water rescue training.
   
WHY:   Rescue training is an important part of the airport's emergency preparedness
program. This marks the first time that the three emergency departments will be
training together. In the event of a real emergency, the three parties would work
together to respond.
   
WHEN:   Tuesday, February 25 - 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  Wednesday, February 26 - 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  Thursday, February 27 - 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  Friday, February 28 - 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
   
WHERE:   Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, south east corner near Gate 130, and Lake
Ontario
   
DETAILS: Simulations will be part of the training exercise and several emergency vehicles
will be on-site. A number of emergency services personnel and manikins will be
in the water and on the ice in Toronto Harbour during the training exercise.
