Samsung Canada Keeps Canadians Connected with Athletes at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games

Digital Olympic Games Hub will host "Notes From Home" campaign, provide ongoing updates and behind the scenes access for Canadians

TORONTO, Feb. 12, 2014 /CNW/ - Samsung Canada, the official wireless communications platform of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, today announced Samsung's Digital Olympic Games Hub for the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games (www.samsung.com/bringithome) which will bring to life the over 7,000 Notes From Home collected from across the country.

The Hub aims to be the meeting place for Canadians looking for content on Canadian athletes during Sochi 2014, and will use their innovative Notes from Home submissions to help motivate athletes as they train and compete for medals in Sochi. The entire campaign is designed to allow Canadians to do more, play more and share more.

"The Olympic Winter Games are celebrated with pride in Canada like nowhere else around the globe," said Mark Childs, Chief Marketing Officer of Samsung Canada. "Regardless of the time zone difference between Canada and Russia, Canadians will be able to access the Samsung Digital Olympic Games Hub on their mobile devices around the clock to stay updated with exclusive behind the scenes access. We are creating a truly mobile Olympic experience that will bring the excitement of the Games in Sochi home to Canadians and in turn our energy to encourage our athletes to be at their best while they are away from home."

Notes From Home

As part of the Notes from Home program, Samsung Note 3s will be touring the country with Samsung brand ambassadors leading up to and during the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, allowing Canadians from all corners of our country to send personal messages to our athletes. Samsung ambassadors have already collected over 7,000 Notes from Canadians across the country. These Notes are available for all Canadians to read on the Digital Hub at www.samsung.com/bringithome.

Samsung has also created a digital experience that gathers Notes From Home to help unlock an exclusive recording of O Canada! The more Notes From Home that are produced by Canadians, the more of the national anthem will be released and available for download as a complimentary ring tone from Samsung.
