Scott Moore Appointed President of Sportsnet & NHL, Rogers Media
TORONTO, Jan. 23, 2014 /CNW/ - Keith Pelley, President, Rogers Media, announced today the appointment of Scott Moore as President of Sportsnet & NHL, effective immediately.
In this new role, Moore will lead these two priority sports portfolios, leveraging the company's cable, wireless and suite of media assets to deliver world-class hockey and sports experiences to fans across the country. Moore will serve on the Rogers Media Senior Leadership Team.
This appointment follows the announcement in late November in which Rogers Communications and the NHL agreed to a landmark 12-year national broadcast and multimedia deal, which begins with the 2014-15 season.

Moore has more than 20 years of experience in the sports television industry. He is a veteran of eight Olympic Games, five network launches, and hundreds of major sports broadcasts as a producer, including the NHL and Stanley Cup Final, Junior Hockey and Memorial Cup, and Canada Cup.
Previously, Moore was President of Broadcast at Rogers Media, overseeing programming, production, regulatory, engineering and distribution of the company's TV and radio assets. Prior to joining Rogers Media in 2010, Moore was Executive Director of CBC Sports and General Manager of CBC's Media Sales & Marketing department. He also served as Vice President of CTV Sportsnet (now Sportsnet) from 1998 to 2003, and oversaw production and technical elements of its successful launch.

Moore received an Emmy Award for his role with NBC at the Seoul 1988 Olympic Games. Other awards include a Gemini Award for the 1988 World Figure Skating Championship, the 2005 Jack Webster Award of Excellence in Legal Journalism, and a Justicia Award for Legal Programming for the two-part series 'Crime on the Street'.
