The Salvation Army Warns of Unauthorized Door-to-Door Solicitations in Westboro

OTTAWA, Dec. 16, 2013 /CNW/ - The Salvation Army is warning residents of suspicious door-to-door solicitation for donations after several reports from the public.  The Salvation Army would like to remind residents that our organization does not engage in door-to-door canvassing and has not endorsed any persons or organization to do so on our behalf.

According to reports from residents the individual(s) knocking on doors may be carrying a laminated letter of support and other materials and did not have any identification.

The Salvation Army values each and every donor and every dollar donated. With this in mind we ask that residents not make a donation if approached at their door by someone claiming to be collecting donations on behalf of The Salvation Army and to please report these incidents to The Ottawa Police at 613-230-6211.
