Serge A. Boileau, Eng., receives the President's Volunteer Service Award of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)

MONTREAL, Dec. 13, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Serge A. Boileau, Eng., received the 2013 President's Volunteer Service Award of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) last night in Montreal. This distinction is awarded every year to an engineer who demonstrates outstanding social commitment toward his or her professional order.

President of the Commission des services électriques de Montréal, Serge A. Boileau is a long-time collaborator of the Centre d'expertise et de recherche en infrastructures urbaines (CERIU). He has extensive expertise in infrastructure management, design and monitoring, including underground networks and roads.

Mr. Boileau is very involved in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, where he has sat on many committees, including the Public Affairs Steering Committee and the Professional Practice Committee. He has also provided regular assistance in critical issues for the profession, such as the Engineers Act.

Since the fall of 2012, Mr. Boileau has participated in the public contract award and management task force that is preparing recommendations for the OIQ to submit to the Charbonneau Commission.
