Midwest's EnviroKleen® Receives Certification from Bureau de normalisation du Quebec
CANTON, Ohio, Aug. 15, 2013 /CNW/ - The BNQ* has issued its Certification that Midwest's EnviroKleen®, a patented synthetic organic fluid with a binder, meets the BNQ's standards 2410-300 Products Used as Dust Control Agents for Non-Asphalted Roads and Other Similar Surfaces.
A value of BNQ certification for buyers is that it is not a one-time recognition. The certificate is valid for 2 years. BNQ re-evaluates conformance to BNQ standards for critical contaminants, degradation, mobility, bio-concentration, aquatic toxicity, soil toxicity, and geno-toxicity each year.
While other kinds of dust suppressants – e.g., calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, ammonium lignosulfonate and base oil – also hold BNQ certification, EnviroKleen is the only one that is a Synthetic Organic Dust Control® product.
"BNQ environmental standards are among the most stringent," said Midwest founder Bob Vitale, "but the certification is about environmental impact alone, not about performance. EnviroKleen meets BNQ's demanding environmental standards while also delivering outstanding performance over the longest period of time because of the patented chemistry of its synthetic fluid molecular structure and its unique binder system."
EnviroKleen is chemically engineered with a synthetic fluid and a polymeric binder system that enables it to quickly penetrate and coat road surface materials, capture critical road materials called fines, and keep them locked into the surface so they cannot escape as dust. As fines are generated by new traffic, they too are captured and interlocked with the surface through both cohesive and adhesive mechanisms. It is this process of Fines Preservation® that maintains road quality and eliminates dust for longer periods of time than other products. EnviroKleen also creates pavement-like strength that is actually enhanced by traffic.
In addition to BNQ certification, EnviroKleen received the US Environmental Agency's ETV Certification in 2005 for dust suppressant products. It holds environmental and performance certification from Pennsylvania's State Conservation Commission's Center for Dirt and Gravel Road Studies and environmental certification from the State of Washington. EnviroKleen has been confirmed by Boeing-performed testing to have passed all requirements of Boeing Specification D6-17487, "Testing of Airplane Maintenance Materials".
