The new Canadian Parents Online

TORONTO, June 28 /CNW/ - The Rogers Media Digital and Interactive team is
delighted to announce the birth of a new and improved Canadianparents.com.
Arriving to a very happy grass-roots community of Canadian parents who share a
common goal - a passion for raising their children well - this fresh, warm and
friendly site was officially unveiled this morning. The re-birth and
investment in Canadianparents.com further anchors the site as a respected and
truly unique source for the Canadian parenting community and reinforces
Rogers' leadership position in the Canadian parenting media category.

    Trusted parenting content

Originally born 11 years ago, Canadianparents.com is reborn with a
vibrant forum community run by approximately 60 community volunteers, new
podcast channel, robust blog centre featuring six different community
bloggers, great articles and amazing recipes submitted by families across the
country - it's trusted content created by Canadian parents for Canadian
parents. It joins sister TodaysParent.com in the ranks of the country's most
sought-after parenting content.
"We have invested significant resources in taking our online home for
Canadian parents to a new level of digital experience," says Tracy Keleher,
Editorial Director and the original founder of Canadian Parents Online. "Not
only is the look new and fresh but we will be using new technologies to
enhance the way we bring Canadian parents together to share advice and
experiences," adds Louise Clements, Vice-President, Digital Properties,
Rogers Media.

    Momtalk

The Momtalk podcast is the site's new community radio show. Inspired by
similar popular parenting programming offered in other countries, Momtalk is a
first in Canada, offering Canadians homegrown and relevant content. It's an
online radio show produced by Moms for Moms, connecting Moms around Canada and
the world. Listeners can join Helen, Cara and Tracy - the parenting team from
Canadianparents.com as they talk all things Mom.

    What hasn't changed

Online since June 1996, Canadian Parents provides a warm and friendly
home on the Internet for parents and professionals. The website features over
450,000 pages of dynamic content. Known among parents across the country as a
respectful, friendly, supportive and accommodating online community,
Canadian Parents hosts vibrant, moderated discussion boards with ongoing
postings covering 115 topical areas. Visitors and members of the
Canadian Parents online community also have access to 8 "on-site" professional
parenting experts and numerous associations with leading authors and parent
organizations across Canada.

    Soon to come

The Canadian Parents Online community will soon have access to
interactive polls on the site, the ability to comment on articles and a newly
invigorated newsletter.

    Other siblings in the family

Canadian Parents online joins Rogers' other parenting properties in
offering families highly respected content. Also launched in 1996,
Todaysparent.com quickly became Canada's favorite online parenting
destination. Not only do parents find friendship and community on the site,
but they also get a dynamic way of exploring the Today's Parent family of
magazines, which includes Pregnancy & Birth, Newborn, Baby & Toddler and their
French-language counterparts. With a circulation of approximately 215,000, the
magazine is read by 1.8 million Canadians each month.
