Intel Opens Technology Lab in Waterloo Region to Help Fuel Canadian Digital Media Innovation
Located at the Communitech Hub, Intel Developer Zone puts Intel technology into the hands of Canada's next generation of developers and entrepreneurs
WATERLOO REGION, ON, June 25, 2013 /CNW/ - The Intel Software and Services Group today announced the official opening of the Intel Developer Zone, a lab for digital media developers based in the Communitech Hub* in Waterloo Region. The new lab provides local developers with exciting access to Intel technology and platforms, and it underscores Intel's longstanding commitment to Canadian innovation and the digital economy.
The new Intel Developer Zone will act as both a hardware and software centre, allowing the innovators and entrepreneurs based at the Communitech Hub to utilize Intel's processors, mobile platforms, and software development products. It will also provide an opportunity for local developers to interact with Intel experts at the lab as well as through online forums and blogs. A seminar series is anticipated which is intended to help drive innovation and share knowledge.

The Communitech Hub, where the Intel Developer Zone will be located, is a 44,000 ft² digital media innovation center that brings entrepreneurs, multi-national companies and academic institutions together under one roof to build global digital media companies. The Hub is home to more than 120 companies, from startups to multinationals.
