Skyservice named designated scheduled carrier to Croatia, Serbia, Belgium and France

TORONTO, Feb. 19 /CNW/ - Today's announcement by The Honourable Lawrence
Cannon, Canada's Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities,
designating Skyservice Airlines to operate scheduled air services to Croatia,
Serbia, Belgium and France opens the door for Skyservice to operate more
direct scheduled airline services to Europe.
"Transport Minister Cannon's route award provides Skyservice and its tour
and travel customers with increased opportunities, and strengthens Canada's
overall international air presence," said Russ Payson, Chairman and CEO of
Skyservice. "We have many years experience flying charter flights to a number
of European destinations and we look forward to quickly establishing scheduled
routes to these destinations as a popular choice for travelers."
Payson emphasized that the new scheduled service will complement the
existing range of services offered by his carrier.
"We shall continue to work with our partners in support of their
all-inclusive products that are already in the marketplace," he said. "The
addition of Croatia, Serbia, Belgium and France to our network provides more
opportunities to our partners and offers exciting vacation experiences for
travelers."
Skyservice Airlines has operated charter flights to several points in
Europe for over 10 years and commenced charter service to Zagreb, Croatia and
Belgrade, Serbia in 2004.
It is the airline's intention to commence direct scheduled service this
summer from Toronto to both Zagreb and Belgrade and introduce direct scheduled
service from Quebec City to Brussels, Paris and Nice.
These new services, operating weekly with Boeing aircraft, will feature
Skyservice's renowned in-flight service, including hot meals and in-flight
entertainment.
In addition to the above mentioned points, Skyservice will operate
scheduled service to Portugal and Italy this summer.

Skyservice Airlines carries over one million passengers annually and
currently operates a fleet of 23 aircraft including Airbus A-319's, A-320's,
A-330's and Boeing B-757's to popular vacation destinations in Canada, the
