Dr. Allan Gotlib to be granted the Order of Canada on Friday, May 3, 2013
TORONTO, May 3, 2013 /CNW/ - The Canadian Chiropractic Association is thrilled to announce that our Director of Research Programs, Dr. Allan Gotlib, BSc, DC will become a member of the Order of Canada during the investiture ceremony at Rideau Hall on Friday, May 3 at 10:30 a.m.
Dr. Gotlib has had a long and illustrious career, dedicating his work to chiropractic and neuromusculoskeletal research. As Director of Research Programs for the Canadian Chiropractic Association, Dr. Gotlib has established chiropractic research chairs and professorships in universities across Canada, as well as founding the Journal of the Canadian Chiropractic Association (JCCA), where he has been the Editor-in-Chief for 28 years. Dr. Gotlib also serves as the Executive Vice-President of the Canadian Chiropractic Research Foundation.
Dr. Gotlib has also been a full-time professor at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC), a member of the President`s Voluntary Sector Committee at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), President of the College of Chiropractors of Ontario, and an Executive Committee member of the Canadian Cochrane Network and Centre.
In addition, he has won several awards for his work, including the Earl Homewood Professorship (2007 and 2008) from CMCC, the Chiropractor of the Year Award (2006) from the Ontario Chiropractic Association, and the Canadian Chiropractic Association Medal of Merit (2007), which is the highest award given by the profession in Canada.
Dr. Gotlib continues to dedicate his time to chiropractic research by coordinating the Consortium of Canadian Chiropractic Research Centres (CCCRC) and organizing the biannual Chiropractic Research Symposium, which brings together prominent chiropractic researchers from across the country.
